New Product: Embedded OPC UA server

Wapice Ltd has developed an embedded OPC UA server on a Linux platform. The product enables a wider usage of OPC UA in the industry because the price of the server card is far lower than the price of OPC servers used before. Being as small as a business card, the server is easy to integrate to industrial devices. Because the user interface of the server is Linux no licence fees have to be paid.
The product is a part the development of OPC UA technology. Being an active member of the OPC UA Early Adopter working group Wapice has contributed to the implementation of the OPC UA stacks and reference implementations. OPC UA introduces fundamental architectural changes to earlier OPC specifications. These include e.g. a unified address space model, platform independence, security and scalability.
The server card offers totally new possibilities to use OPC UA technology in industrial solutions. The server can be used to develop entire system solutions that include both server and client applications. The embedded OPC UA server can be also integrated to Wapice Remote Management (WRM) system as an option.
Wapice attending the MITTAUS and testaus 2009 fair

Wapice will attend the MITTAUS & testaus fair at Malminkartano Helsinki on March 25.-26.3.2009. Wapice will be presenting the Wapice Remote Management system (WRM) as well as a Linux based embedded OPC UA server both designed and implemented by Wapice. Please visit us at table A1!
Remote control is one of Wapice's focus points during year 2009. The year has started well, and Wapice has hired three new employees in the beginning of the year.

According to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50/500 listing Wapice is the 27th fastest growing high technology company in Finland and the 480th fastest growing in Europe. The growth has been 356% over five years and it has been organic and profitable. Wapice is one of the largest Finnish software companies focusing solely on industry.
Donation for Cancer Clinic

Wapice Oy has donated the money usually spent on season’s greetings to cancer sufferers. Pictured here is Wapice’s CEO Pasi Tuominen handing over a € 2,000 cheque to the Oncological Polyclinic of the Vaasa Central Hospital where the staff have already decided how the money will be spent. The donation will be used to improve and cheer up the patients' daily environment: to buy works of art to be hung on the walls of the new day ward. It will offer a measure of relief in the cramped outpatient facilities. At the request of the patients, lightweight partitions were used to create an open space in which they can have peer support from one another. The facilities will be open to the public on the inauguration day on 5 January 2009 from 10–14. The works of art will be hung on the walls early next year.

Wapice and Microsoft have signed a partnership agreement. From this point on Wapice will distribute and develop Dynamics NAV ERP system. Dynamics NAV is a fully customizable business management solution for small and middle-sized companies. Our objective is to become a significant ERP provider for industrial manufacturing companies in Western Finland .
