WARM

Wapice Ltd has designed a single board computer (SBC) called WARM using latest ARM9-technology. It has been especially designed as a platform suitable for industrial electronics. It can be used,  for example, within remote system management as data acquisition or controlling device.

During development the industrial rough demands where taken into consideration. Features in brief: Wide operating temperature (-40°C – +85°C), withstands vibration and if required it could be enclosed within IP65 for harsh environment. The device could also feature a full color touch screen display of desired size. The low power consumption ARM9-processor makes it possible to design industrial appliances without separate cooling.

The WARM module is a cost-effective platform designed to provide rapid development for customized hardware solutions. By designing customer specific baseboard it is possible to make I/O- and required communication buses, which fulfills the target requirements.

As for the base communication features it is enabled for various bus communications e.g. CAN, RS-485/RS-422 and USB. Networking technologies supported at the baseboard includes Ethernet, WLAN, GPRS and ZigBee. Other types of interfaces found are A/D-converters, PWM-outputs and a LCD controller for various kinds of displays and sizes. Wapice also implements customer specific protocols and interfaces.

Wapice offers complete customer specific solutions. Apart from the electronics the platform includes required drivers for the Linux- or RTOS-based operating system. The WARM platform is used as a basis to develop complete systems according to customer’s requirements including casing. If desired the complete project is developed from design to production.
